Turn right – a riverside walk towards Shepperton

If you turn right out of the hotel, on the river side, and follow the scenic towpath towards Shepperton, you’ll be greeted by an array of inviting pubs. Here are our favourite pit stops, where you can cool off with a refreshing drink or simply relax and watch the world drift by.

A short stroll – 20-minute walk – The Swan, Staines
Just 20 minutes away, you’ll find The Swan, a charming pub perched on the riverbank. Enjoy blissful water views as you sip a pint and soak in the tranquillity of the Thames.

25 minutes further – 45-minute walk – The Wheatsheaf and Pigeon
A little further along, you’ll discover the Wheatsheaf and Pigeon. It’s the perfect spot for a true ‘traditional pub’ experience, with a warm, welcoming vibe.

15 minutes further – 1-hour walk – The Three Horseshoes
Another 15 minutes along the towpath leads you to The Three Horseshoes. This gastropub serves hearty meals and a mean cocktail, ideal for a delicious lunch.

30 minutes further – 1 hour 30-minute walk – The Kingfisher or The Bridge, Chertsey
For your penultimate stop – or is it? – you have a choice of two pubs: The Kingfisher or The Bridge, both offering fantastic riverside views in Chertsey. Perfect for relaxing and watching the river meander by.

Just 30 minutes further – 2-hour walk – Thames Court, Shepperton
If you’ve still got the energy, a final stretch will take you to Thames Court in Shepperton. Celebrate making it this far with a well-earned drink at this riverside gem.

Turn left – a riverside walk towards Windsor

If you fancy heading towards Windsor, turning left out of the hotel will take you on a cultural adventure. Along the way, you’ll find a great pub, but most of our top recommendations are right in the heart of Windsor, perfect for an autumn exploration.

35-minute walk – The Bells of Ouzeley, Old Windsor
After a gentle 35-minute walk, The Bells of Ouzeley awaits in Old Windsor. It’s the ideal spot to pause, refresh, and enjoy the charming riverside setting.

Pubs in Windsor – An Hour or So Further
Once you’ve reached Windsor, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to welcoming pubs. Here are our top picks, each with its own unique character:

  • The Two Brewers – Situated on one of the oldest streets in Windsor, this is a must-visit for a taste of history.
  • The Windsor Castle – Just a short walk from the iconic Windsor Castle, perfect for a royal refreshment.
  • The Duchess of Cambridge – A relaxed spot with modern interiors and a laid-back atmosphere.
  • The Boatman – For riverside drinks with unbeatable views.

  • The George – The flagship pub of the renowned Windsor & Eton Brewery, where you can enjoy a perfectly brewed pint.
  • The Henry VI – Cosy up by the open fireplace in this warm and welcoming pub, a perfect autumn retreat.
